Privacy Policy

WTD is a simple menu bar app. We don't run servers, we don't collect your data, and we don't sell anything about you.

Short version: WTD connects directly to Google on your device. Your calendar and task data never passes through our servers — because we don't have any. The only things stored locally are your Google auth tokens (in your system keychain) and your trial or purchase status.

What data WTD accesses

WTD requests access to the following Google account data when you sign in:

  • Google Calendar events — to display your upcoming events and allow you to create new ones via quick add.
  • Google Tasks — to display your tasks, mark them complete, and create new ones via quick add.

WTD reads and writes this data directly between your device and Google's servers. This data is never sent to, stored on, or processed by any WTD-operated server.

Google Sign-In

WTD uses Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0) to authenticate your Google account. Your Google credentials are never seen or stored by WTD — authentication is handled entirely by Google.

After signing in, your Google access token is stored securely in your Mac's system keychain. WTD uses this token to make API requests to Google Calendar and Google Tasks on your behalf.

You can revoke WTD's access at any time from your Google account permissions page.

Your use of Google services is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Purchases and trial

WTD offers a one-time purchase and a 7-day free trial. All payments are processed by Apple's App Store. WTD does not handle, store, or process any payment information.

Your purchase receipt and entitlements are managed by Apple's StoreKit framework. WTD only checks whether a valid purchase exists — it cannot see your payment details.

Apple's handling of your purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

What's stored on your device

WTD stores only the following data locally on your Mac:

  • Google auth token — saved in the macOS system keychain. Used to authenticate API requests.
  • Trial expiration date — saved in app preferences (UserDefaults). Used to track whether your 7-day trial is active.

No analytics, crash logs, or usage data are collected or transmitted.

Third-party services

WTD integrates with the following third-party services:

WTD does not use any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or data brokers.

Children's privacy

WTD is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. Because WTD requires a Google account to function, use is subject to Google's age requirements.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of WTD after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
